NRAO Science Center

NRAO's new 25,000 square foot Science Center opened in May 2003. In addition to providing fun learning experiences for the public, the educational programs focus on K-12 students in West Virginia, and surrounding states. Field trip experiences are created that meet national science education standards and state-based science learning goals.

Catching the Wave Exhibit Hall

The Center includes: Exhibit Hall, Auditorium, Classrooms, Computer lab, Star Party Patio, Gift Shop and Cafe. Free tours are now offered year-round! We hope to see you soon.

The NRAO is open for tours year round. The schedule is

• Memorial Day through Labor Day 7 days a week;
  • tours every hour from 9-6.
• Labor Day through October: Weds-Sunday
  • tours every hour from 9-6,
• Nov.-May: Weds- Sunday 10-5,
  • tours at 11,1, and 3.
• Public and school tours are free
