 Franklin T. fires the 'Rocket'.

Durbin Rocket
Tucked DEEP in the center of the Wild Heart is one of the best kept secrets in West Virginia - The Durbin Rocket. You'll ease on down the upper reaches of the Greenbrier River on a leisurely 1.5 hour, 11 mile round trip. The quaint little train passes several scenic vistas and wildlife viewing areas. Picnic at isolated Piney Island, the current end of the line. It's a great spot for a quiet picnic on the rivers edge.

Or hop off with your camping and fishing equipment and stay for a few days.

Cheat Mountain Salamander
Ride the Cheat Mt. Salamander to Historic Spruce or High Falls of the Cheat. Ride from the headwaters of the Shavers Fork of the Cheat River to the High Falls, perhaps West Virginia's most magnificent waterfall. You can depart the regular schedule and fish or picnic at the ghost-town site of Spruce.
The Salamander is a replica of a 1922 Edwards Railway Motor Car built new in 2000 for this rugged mountain service. It contains a baggage area for storing coolers, bikes and backpacks. Spend a few days in the wilderness.     1-877-MTN-RAIL
